Senior Trade Compliance Manager

About the role

The Senior Trade Compliance Manager leads trade compliance activities across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, overseeing customs-related controls, export controls and internal trade compliance processes. The role ensures business transactions comply with applicable regulations and internal policies, while guiding operational and commercial teams. It involves leading the Middle East Trade Compliance Team and coordinating with Trade Compliance, Legal, Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales and regional business leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage import and export compliance activities and align them with customs, export control, sanctions and internal requirements.
• Oversee customs and import processes, including tariff classification (with the HTS classification team), country of origin, valuation, documentation accuracy, broker management and import recordkeeping.
• Review and approve import and export documentation to ensure compliant shipments and accurate customs declarations.
• Partner with logistics, supply chain, sales and business teams to resolve customs clearance issues, export holds, shipment delays and trade compliance questions.
• Develop, maintain and improve regional trade compliance procedures, controls and work instructions.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders and internal stakeholders on import/export transactions and their documentation.
• Conduct or support compliance reviews, audits and corrective actions, and maintain accurate trade compliance records for audit readiness and reporting.
• Deliver training on customs requirements, export controls, sanctions compliance and shipment execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or a related field, or commensurate experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, logistics or export controls.
• Multinational experience preferred; exposure to the META region is a plus.
• Arabic is a plus.

Required skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of customs and export control regulations.
• Familiarity with international shipping and trade processes.
• Experience using SAP.
• Good communication skills in English; ability to work cross-functionally and follow established processes.
