Service Technician - Car and LCV

About the role

Al-Futtaim Automotive, part of the Al-Futtaim Group, is hiring a Service Technician for its auto centers. The technician carries out service and maintenance on all makes and models of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (LCV) according to company and manufacturer standards, and contributes to the business's revenue and customer satisfaction. The role reports to the Service Supervisor in a busy workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service and maintenance such as oil changes, tyre services (replacement, balancing, puncture repair), brake replacement, servicing, basic diagnostics and air conditioning re-gas.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on passenger cars and LCVs, and complete and maintain check sheets and vehicle write-ups on the repair order.
• Report additional work needed after completing an EVHC and provide repair and service estimates to customers.
• Use diagnostic tools and scan tools for basic electronic inspections, and manage parts inventory and returns of unused parts.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keep the workplace tidy, and handle dangerous substances safely.
• Ensure first-time fixes, proper diagnosis and troubleshooting, and final inspection and quality testing of vehicles.
• Manage time on each job to meet targets and achieve high customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Trade certificate or diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience on cars and light commercial vehicles.
• Multi-brand automotive service center experience is a must.
• UAE clean driving license is preferable.
• Good verbal and written English; Arabic and other languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Proven technical expertise in independent servicing, repairs and component replacement.
• Basic diagnostic skills for mechanical and electronic faults.
• Expert understanding of core vehicle systems.
• Ability to explain complex faults to customers if required.
