Site Engineer – Steel Structural (UAE)

About the role

The Site Engineer – Steel Structural will lead the safe and efficient execution of all structural steel fabrication and erection activities on‑site. You will work closely with subcontractors, engineering, and construction teams to ensure the project meets schedule, quality, budget, and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and control steel fabrication, delivery, and erection on site.
• Enforce company HSE policies, lead toolbox talks and safety walks.
• Coordinate with steel subcontractors to follow approved method statements and schedules.
• Monitor daily progress, prepare look‑ahead plans and support milestone achievement.
• Ensure first‑time‑right quality through Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and approved work methods.
• Oversee welding, bolting, alignment and lifting operations.
• Resolve technical and execution issues with engineering and construction teams.
• Manage direct manpower and resources for self‑performed steel works when required.
• Maintain accurate site documentation for safety, quality and progress.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in on‑shore Oil & Gas / Petrochemical construction.
• Diploma or higher in Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection methods.
• Familiarity with international standards (AWS, AISC, BS/EN, ISO).
• Good understanding of HSE, quality control and construction planning.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
