Site Mechanical Engineer (Mechanical Systems)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Site Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy. The role focuses on on‑site management and implementation of mechanical systems for high‑profile construction projects, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of HVAC, plumbing and fire‑protection systems on‑site.
• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, approved drawings and codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA and local building regulations.
• Perform site inspections to verify quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors and consultants to resolve technical issues.
• Review and approve shop drawings, method statements and material submittals.
• Monitor progress and control site schedule for mechanical installation, testing and commissioning.
• Provide technical support during site meetings and ensure alignment with other disciplines.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on mechanical site activities.
• Liaise with authorities to secure permits and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10–12 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the healthcare sector.
• Proven experience supervising mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA and local codes.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, medical‑gas, fire‑protection and plumbing systems.
• Ability to review mechanical drawings, specifications and shop drawings for accuracy.
• Familiarity with testing, commissioning and handover processes.
• Excellent site‑management and coordination skills.
