Solar O&M Supervisor

About the role

The Solar O&M Supervisor manages on-the-ground operations and maintenance across multiple solar facilities, acting as the link between the office and field technicians. The role ensures Planned Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, cleaning cycles and emergency callouts are completed safely and within contractual Service Level Agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise internal technician teams and third-party subcontractors on scheduled site maintenance, PPM schedules and rapid-response Corrective Maintenance tickets.
• Oversee module cleaning routines and manage site inventory of testing tools, safety equipment and spare parts.
• Run daily Toolbox Talks, pre-task risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses, enforce Permit to Work, LOTO and PPE compliance, and ensure adherence to client facility access and utility regulations.
• Guide technicians through diagnostics, support performance verification and thermographic inspections, and review subcontractor deliverables before sign-off.
• Act as the liaison with Facility Management, landlords, security teams and clients, compile daily field logs and escalate electrical failures to the O&M Engineer.
• Manage manpower allocation, identify root causes of failures, assist with site handovers and prepare service and Root Cause Analysis reports.
• Plan daily and weekly schedules, train technicians, evaluate performance and enforce discipline, and work an on-call rota including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent technical vocational qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in solar PV installation, commissioning or O&M, including at least 3 years supervising field teams and subcontractors.
• Valid UAE manual light vehicle driving licence.
• Working proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi or Urdu is an advantage.
• Ability to work outdoors in warm conditions, climb ladders and work at heights on rooftops.
• Willingness to work an on-call rota and follow summer heat stress procedures.

Required skills

• C&I solar PV architecture, including string and central inverters, DC combiners and LV distribution boards.
• Interpretation of single-line diagrams, schematics and manufacturer service documents.
• Electrical test instruments and awareness of IEC 62446, BS 7671 and local utility safety guidelines.
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
