Specialist Business Development – Export Cluster

About the role

The Specialist Business Development, Export Cluster will drive Hershey’s expansion across Africa, opening new markets and acquiring new customers while strengthening existing distributor relationships. This is a self‑started, entrepreneurial role operating in a lean, start‑up‑style environment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and onboard new customers and markets across Africa using an established network of contacts.
• Build go‑to‑market strategies for regions where Hershey has limited or no presence, from entry to full commercial operation.
• Manage and grow relationships with current regional distributors, monitoring performance, compliance and route‑to‑market effectiveness.
• Navigate import, trade and regulatory requirements specific to African markets and translate insights into commercial actions.
• Ensure strong in‑store execution, drive visibility, distribution and assortment, and support innovation launches and promotional campaigns.
• Analyze sales trends, customer performance and new‑market pipelines to generate actionable insights and support forecasting.

Required profile

• 4‑7 years of commercial experience in FMCG with a proven track record in export or new‑market business development.
• Demonstrated success opening new markets or customers in Africa and an active network of trade and distributor contacts.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills, comfortable working independently in a start‑up‑style setup.
• Entrepreneurial, resilient and self‑directed mindset.
