Specialist Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon (Western Qualified)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with recognized Western qualifications to join a reputable healthcare facility in the UAE. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care for conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, and related structures while adhering to international clinical standards and UAE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and surgically manage diseases, injuries, deformities and congenital conditions of the oral and maxillofacial region.
• Perform dentoalveolar procedures, including complex extractions, impacted wisdom tooth removal and management of odontogenic infections.
• Conduct orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery for facial skeletal discrepancies.
• Manage facial trauma, fractures of the mandible, maxilla, cheekbones and other facial structures.
• Treat oral and maxillofacial cysts, benign tumours and other pathologies.
• Address temporomandibular joint disorders surgically within specialist scope.
• Perform pre‑operative assessments, review imaging, develop treatment plans and obtain informed consent.
• Collaborate with orthodontists, dentists, ENT specialists, plastic surgeons, oncologists and other professionals for multidisciplinary care.
• Provide postoperative monitoring, pain management, wound care and follow‑up to ensure optimal recovery.

Required profile

• Recognized dental degree (BDS, DDS, DMD or equivalent) and, where required, a medical degree.
• Specialist qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or another accepted Western system.
• Relevant post‑qualification specialist experience as required by UAE licensing authorities.
• Eligibility for Specialist or Consultant classification under DHA, DOH or MOHAP.
• Valid professional registration and Good Standing Certificate.
• Willingness to relocate to the UAE.
