Specialist Consultant Pediatric Surgeon (Government Facility)

About the role

A leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for a qualified Specialist Consultant Pediatric Surgeon to join its surgical team, providing expert care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and surgically manage congenital and acquired conditions in infants and children.
• Perform pediatric surgical procedures within the candidate’s specialty and approved scope of practice.
• Handle pediatric surgical emergencies and coordinate urgent interventions.
• Provide pre‑operative assessments, post‑operative care and long‑term follow‑up.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and intensive‑care teams.
• Communicate treatment plans, risks and recovery expectations to parents and caregivers.
• Monitor outcomes, manage complications and maintain accurate medical records.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, clinical audits, teaching and continuing medical education.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in Pediatric Surgery.
• Western qualifications preferred (UK CCT/CCST, American, Canadian, Australian, South African Board or equivalent).
• Relevant post‑specialisation experience appropriate to a Specialist/Consultant role.
• Demonstrated expertise in pediatric surgical procedures and complex case management.
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
