Specialist Critical Care Physician

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Specialist Critical Care physician to join our multidisciplinary intensive care unit in Dubai. The role involves delivering comprehensive, evidence‑based care to critically ill adult patients, ensuring rapid and effective interventions in line with DHA regulations and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage critically ill patients admitted to the ICU.
• Provide advanced life support, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management and multi‑organ support.
• Perform procedures such as central venous catheterisation, arterial line insertion, endotracheal intubation, bronchoscopy (where credentialed), chest‑tube insertion and bedside ultrasound‑guided interventions.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, respiratory therapists and pharmacists.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, respond to emergencies, rapid‑response calls and cardiac arrests.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
• Supervise junior physicians and contribute to education, research and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Anesthesia with Critical Care, Internal Medicine with Critical Care or an equivalent recognised specialty.
• Valid DHA licence or eligibility letter for a Specialist Critical Care position (or eligibility to obtain one).
• International board certification is preferred.
