Specialist Structural Engineer - ADNOC Offshore Projects

About the role

Worley is hiring a Specialist Structural Engineer in Abu Dhabi to provide specialist-level technical expertise and engineering support for civil and structural engineering on ADNOC offshore projects. The role covers the FEED, EPC, fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning phases, reviewing contractor deliverables against ADNOC specifications, international codes, project requirements, quality standards and HSE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve EPC contractor civil and structural deliverables, including calculations, drawings, specifications, material requisitions and technical reports.
• Review structural analysis and design for offshore facilities such as jackets, topsides, decks, bridges, modules, pipe racks, equipment foundations and support structures.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, international codes and engineering best practice.
• Take part in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, model reviews and technical workshops.
• Review structural load calculations, foundation design, fatigue assessments, transportation, lifting and installation analyses.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, pipeline, marine, geotechnical and construction teams.
• Support procurement through technical bid evaluations, vendor document reviews and material approvals.
• Review fabrication, transportation, offshore installation and commissioning methodologies and identify technical risks.
• Provide technical support during site visits, fabrication yards, offshore construction and commissioning, and monitor engineering progress and technical queries.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide them technically.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university, or 15 years of experience in oil and gas or petrochemicals.
• At least 5 years in a similar position on mega oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
• ADNOC and offshore project experience is required; ADNOC offshore PMC experience is required.
• PMC experience preferred; 5+ years of GCC project experience preferred.
• Proven FEED and EPC experience on large offshore projects is required.

Required skills

• Offshore structural engineering principles and design of jackets, topsides, decks, modules, equipment foundations, pipe racks and steel structures.
• Transportation, lifting, installation, fatigue, seismic, blast and accidental load analysis.
• Familiarity with ADNOC standards, API, DNV, ISO 19902, AISC, Eurocodes and BS standards.
• Software: SACS, STAAD.Pro, SESAM, ANSYS, AutoCAD, Navisworks, MS Office.
• Strong technical and analytical ability, engineering judgement, communication and stakeholder management, and experience in PMC environments.
