Stewarding Associate

About the role

The Stewarding Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen, store rooms and dining areas of the hotel. This role ensures that all dishes, utensils and equipment are properly washed, sanitized and stored according to hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations and trash compactors.
• Wash, disinfect and sanitize kitchen surfaces, tables, tools, knives and other equipment using appropriate chemicals.
• Receive deliveries, store perishables correctly, rotate stock and ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas.
• Inspect, pull, stack cleaned items, and re‑scrub any items that do not meet quality standards.
• Break down dirty bus tubs, empty trashcans, clean and mop assigned areas, and manage recyclables and cardboard disposal.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Operation of dishwashing machines and hand‑wash stations.
• Use of detergent, rinsing and sanitizing chemicals in a 3‑compartment sink.
