About the role
The Store Supervisor – Automotive leads daily operations of the automotive department, ensuring high‑quality customer service, efficient stock handling, and compliance with health and safety standards. You will be the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams, driving sales performance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and technical advice on automotive products and accessories.
- Support sales targets through upselling, product demonstrations, and handling enquiries, complaints and returns.
- Supervise, coach and schedule store colleagues, providing on‑the‑job training and product knowledge.
- Maintain stock levels, conduct regular counts, and coordinate replenishment with warehouse and procurement.
- Ensure merchandise presentation meets company standards, including labelling and promotional layouts.
- Oversee opening/closing procedures, cash handling and POS operations.
- Guarantee compliance with health‑ and safety, manual handling and COSHH requirements.
- Prepare daily/weekly sales and stock reports, support loss‑prevention and basic HR administration.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and in‑store service partners for fittings, deliveries and warranty issues.
- Identify and implement improvements to customer experience, efficiency and sales performance.
Required profile
- Graduate or relevant vocational qualification in automotive or retail management (advantageous).
- Experience in retail, automotive parts or a customer‑facing environment, preferably with supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven track record of delivering customer service and meeting sales targets.
- Experience of stock control and merchandising.
