Student Supervisor (Grades 8 & 9 Boys) - Immediate Start

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Student Supervisor for Grades 8 and 9 boys at Virginia American School, with a strong pastoral focus. The role covers supervision, attendance monitoring, safeguarding and pastoral support, and starts immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff, in writing, by email, by phone or in person
• Support Reception and the Attendance Officer with monitoring student whereabouts, attendance follow-up and accountability
• Safeguard and promote the welfare, wellbeing and safety of students, especially in the secondary phase
• Provide pastoral support and supervision, focusing on positive behaviour, engagement and wellbeing
• Work with the Pastoral Team to improve attendance, punctuality, transitions, rewards, lockers, behaviour and pastoral interventions
• Liaise with Assistant Principals, Heads of Year, Heads of Key Stage, Admissions, Housekeeping, IT and external providers, and support school events such as Open Evenings, Assemblies and Annual Awards
• Maintain accurate, secure pastoral data and reward records, and manage reward processes including certificates
• Use school systems such as iSAMS, ePraise, CPOMS, SmartPass, Microsoft Office and Canva; update pastoral and curriculum handbooks
• Monitor pastoral budgets, maintain stocks of awards and stationery, and handle enquiries professionally
• Carry out visual checks on pastoral and office equipment, and act as interpreter at parent-student meetings when required
• Coordinate trips, visits, ECAs and enrichment activities, supervise students during breaks and transitions, and support end-of-term celebrations and parent-teacher conferences

Required profile

• High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development or a related field
• At least 2 years' experience working with students in a school setting
• Experience in student supervision, pastoral care, safeguarding, behaviour support or student wellbeing
• Proficiency in both English and Arabic (speaking, reading and writing)
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices

Required skills

• Computer literacy, including iSAMS, Microsoft Office and Canva or similar design tools
• Teamwork, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Good written and spoken English
