Style Supervisor (Housekeeping)

About the role

W Hotels is looking for a Style Supervisor (Housekeeping) to inspect guest rooms, public areas and the pool after cleaning and to support the housekeeping team. The role also involves coordinating housekeeping with engineering, front office and laundry, and assisting management with staff matters.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and the pool after cleaning to ensure quality standards.
• Run sold room reports, verify room status, identify discrepant rooms, prioritise cleaning and update the status of departing guest rooms.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily activities and help with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and coaching staff.
• Act as a liaison between housekeeping, engineering, front office and laundry, and document and resolve discrepant-room issues with the front desk.
• Prepare, distribute and communicate room assignment changes, and brief the next shift on issues.
• Follow company and safety policies, report maintenance problems and safety hazards, complete safety training, and ensure a professional appearance and confidentiality.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No license or certification required.

Required skills

• Physical ability to move objects up to 55 pounds alone, lift heavier loads with assistance, and use a housekeeping cart on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel or walk for long periods and to read small print.
• Use of computers and point-of-sale systems to enter and verify information.
