Subsea Pipeline Designer – Offshore Engineering

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Subsea Pipeline Designer to join our offshore engineering team and contribute to the design of subsea pipeline systems for a major oil & gas project in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for producing detailed design drawings and ensuring they meet all technical and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver subsea pipeline design drawings, including field layouts, pipeline route layouts, alignment sheets, spool drawings, riser arrangements, and crossing general arrangements.
• Ensure all technical documentation complies with company standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
• Review and interpret client technical documentation and incorporate requirements into deliverables.
• Maintain as‑built drawings and update them to reflect construction changes.
• Support material take‑offs and quantity surveys for procurement and construction planning.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and stakeholders to resolve design issues.
• Maintain organized drawing archives with controlled revisions and traceability.
• Assist in coordinating a small team of designers.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in drafting, engineering design, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of offshore subsea pipeline drafting/design experience.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline layouts, alignment sheets, risers, spools, and crossings.
• Proficiency in CAD software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, BricsCAD, or similar) and 3D modelling.
• Deep understanding of drafting principles, industry standards, and QA/QC practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage time efficiently.
