Superintendent Senior - Workboat Fleet

About the role

Jifmar is a worldwide maritime operator whose core business is chartering workboats for clients. It is looking for a Superintendent Senior to manage the technical side of a workboat fleet, covering technical management, maintenance coordination and procurement. The role ensures vessel availability, compliance with safety and regulatory standards and cost-effective purchasing of spares, consumables and services. The position is based in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily technical operations of assigned vessels and plan routine and preventive maintenance schedules with crews and shore teams
• Inspect vessels, supervise dry-dockings, repairs and modifications, and liaise with classification societies, flag authorities and port state inspectors
• Source, evaluate and purchase spares, lubricants, stores and services, and negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers
• Maintain supplier databases, monitor inventory and logistics, and review and approve purchase orders
• Prepare maintenance and purchasing budgets, monitor expenditure and contribute to fleet KPIs and cost control
• Ensure compliance with company QHSE policies and maritime regulations, promote a safety culture and support incident investigations

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent maritime discipline
• 5-8 years of experience in vessel technical management, preferably with workboats, tugs or offshore support vessels
• Experience in an international dredging group, especially in the Middle East, is a plus
• Strong knowledge of classification and flag requirements
• Proven experience in procurement, vendor management and cost control
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; UAE or GCC experience preferred

Required skills

• Familiarity with computerized maintenance and purchasing systems (MARAD would be a plus)
• Hands-on, proactive and detail-oriented approach
