Team Leader - Chargebacks (Emiritization)

About the role

A bank in the UAE is hiring a Team Leader for its Chargebacks unit within card operations, based in Dubai. You will lead a team of 5-6 specialists handling cardholder disputes and settlements under Visa, Mastercard and CBUAE rules, ensuring every case is accurate and on time with zero operational loss. This role is open only to UAE nationals for the Emiritization process.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full dispute lifecycle: chargebacks, representments, pre-arbitration and arbitration within scheme timeframes
• Report fraudulent and counterfeit transactions to Visa and Mastercard
• Oversee reconciliation of chargeback GL and forex settlement accounts
• Validate Visa and Mastercard settlement and billing, and prepare GL entries
• Ensure timely cardholder credits, closure of service requests and outcome communications
• Produce MIS for senior management and ensure regulatory compliance
• Support UAT, automation and straight-through processing, and operational readiness for co-branded and new card launches
• Lead, coach and develop the team and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• At least 4 years in a Visa/Mastercard chargeback role, including 2+ years managing a team
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance or similar
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Visa and Mastercard dispute rules, settlement and reconciliation
• Visa Resolve Online and Mastercom (desirable)
• Exposure to Network International or Fiserv environments (an advantage)
