Technical Support Engineer - Modernization Projects

About the role

Otis is looking for a highly organized and motivated Technical Support Engineer to support the release of modernization elevator projects for manufacturing. The role reviews project requirements, ensures technical compliance and coordinates with Sales, Field Operations, Engineering and Factory teams so orders are released on time and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Review modernization (MOD) elevator projects and prepare them for Release for Manufacturing (RFM).
• Verify technical specifications, layouts and configurations against customer requirements and company standards.
• Coordinate with Sales, Field Operations, Engineering and Factory teams to resolve technical and commercial issues affecting order release.
• Monitor project milestones and ensure RFM activities are completed on schedule.
• Manage and track project documentation, deviations, approvals and design changes.
• Support factory inquiries and clarify project requirements when needed.
• Identify risks, discrepancies and potential manufacturing issues and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the elevator industry, preferably in modernization, engineering, manufacturing or project coordination.
• Good understanding of elevator systems, components, layouts and installation requirements.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Field Operations, Supply Chain and Factory.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, able to review and modify elevator layouts and engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational, time-management and project coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred: experience with elevator modernization and manufacturing release, familiarity with ERP or engineering management systems, knowledge of industry standards and elevator codes.
