Tint-Cell Operator - Paint Production

About the role

The Tint-Cell Operator is a hands-on production role at PPG's Dubai plant, responsible for blending, color matching and quality control of paint batches according to PPG formulations, standards and safety guidelines. The position is full time, morning shift, intermediate level, and calls for technical precision and a strong safety mindset.

Key responsibilities

• Charge, pour and blend intermediates according to batch tickets using wall-mounted HSD, Drum Mixer, Fillon Pichon, Paint Shaker and Weighing Scales in line with PPG SOPs.
• Fill approved batches to tolerance specifications, checking that labels, batch numbers, manufacturing and expiry dates match the work order.
• Manage paint inventory, track material usage and log formulas into batch tickets.
• Prepare and spray batch samples on color matching panels, check color accuracy with a spectrophotometer and color correction software, add colorants as needed, and record gloss, specific gravity and viscosity on the QC card before release.
• Operate, clean and maintain blending and tint cell equipment such as spray guns, mixing machines and computerized systems at scheduled intervals.
• Follow life-critical rules, PPG safety regulations and local requirements, including bonding and grounding for flammable liquids, and dispose of hazardous waste and contaminated rags safely.

Required profile

• High school diploma; a technical diploma or certification in chemistry, paint technology or a related field is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in paint blending, coatings manufacturing or a similar production environment; hazardous materials experience is an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, able to handle multiple tasks in a structured shift environment, with good team communication.
• English required; Arabic or other languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Industrial blending equipment and spectrophotometer operation.
• Color correction software and reading batch tickets, work orders and SOPs.
• Familiarity with flammable liquid handling, chemical waste disposal and explosive environment safety.
