Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Operator

About the role

The Boring Company is seeking an experienced TBM Operator to drive and monitor the Prufrock Earth Pressure Balance Machine on the Dubai Loop. Working from the launch site and control room, you will be responsible for machine performance, advance rate, steering, face stability and continuous lining installation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate an Earth Pressure Balance Machine (EPBM) in varying ground conditions and manage ground conditioning to maintain positive earth pressure.
• Review hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, and produce operational reports and daily activity logs.
• Coordinate with miners, mechanics, electricians and field engineers to keep shifts on‑line, on‑grade and on schedule.

Required profile

• High School Diploma with at least 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Currently based in the UAE or GCC region, or eligible to work in the UAE.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends on‑site in Dubai.

Required skills

• Operation of Earth Pressure Balance Machines, especially in cohesionless, water‑bearing soils.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controller (PLC) systems and TBM guidance and segment orientation.
• Ability to use surveying equipment, interpret plans and perform grade/alignment calculations.
• Valid UAE heavy vehicle driving license or ability to obtain one.
