University Registrar and Enrollment Manager

About the role

The University of the Arts Sharjah (UAS), established in 2025 and bringing performing and visual arts together under two academies, is seeking a University Registrar and Enrollment Manager. Reporting to the Head of Administration, the role oversees registration, academic records and enrollment management, works closely with Academy Directors, College Deans, IT and Finance, and requires oversight of the Ellucian Banner system and full compliance with academic policies. The start date is January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the functional administration of Ellucian Banner for student records, registration, grading and degree audit with IT, and maintain data integrity through entry standards, validation, access controls, audit trails and controlled records migration.
• Lead system testing, upgrades and staff training, and provide enrollment and academic records reports for planning, research and external reporting.
• Protect student records through secure access, retention and disclosure in line with university policies and UAE requirements, and manage registration, add/drop, withdrawals, reactivation and programme changes.
• Coordinate course scheduling, registration timelines and classroom allocation with academies and colleges, and work with Admissions, Finance and Student Support Services to resolve registration holds.
• Oversee academic records, grades, transcripts, enrollment verification and degree audit, graduation eligibility and clearance.
• Record transfer credits, course equivalencies and recognition of prior learning, and advise students and faculty on registration and records.
• Maintain approved programme and course structures in Banner, apply academic regulations consistently, and support policy reviews.
• Lead the Registrar's Office, manage operational plans and budgets, supervise and evaluate staff, set service standards and represent the office on university committees.
• Provide accessible registration and records services, including administrative arrangements for students with disabilities.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 10 years of experience in a registrar's office, including at least five years as Registrar, with demonstrated leadership experience in a Registrar's Office or Academic Services function.
• Proven experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) and data reporting tools.
• Desirable: experience in higher education in the UAE, UK or internationally; institutional transitions, mergers or system implementations; performing arts or creative education environments; knowledge of data governance, compliance and accreditation frameworks.
