Urban Planner – Dubai

About the role

AECOM is seeking an enthusiastic and detail‑oriented Urban Planner to join its dynamic planning team in Dubai. You will contribute to innovative urban solutions for transport, energy and infrastructure projects while working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive planning assessments, due‑diligence reports and development applications, ensuring compliance with UAE statutory requirements.
• Conduct research, policy analysis and feasibility studies to shape project planning strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of designers, architects, engineers and environmental specialists to integrate planning inputs.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and approval authorities, communicating recommendations and managing expectations.
• Analyze spatial data and use GIS tools for site assessments and visualisation of planning concepts.
• Support project managers and senior planners in timeline, budget and resource coordination.
• Contribute to fee proposals and project bids, demonstrating planning value to prospective clients.
• Stay updated on evolving planning policies, urban design principles and sustainability best practices in Dubai and the UAE.
• Mentor junior team members and foster an inclusive team environment.

Required profile
