About the role

The Sharjah Performing Arts Academy is seeking a dedicated Violoncello Tutor to join its College of Music. This part‑time position involves delivering high‑quality one‑to‑one and small‑group cello instruction to undergraduate students in University City, UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and small‑group tuition in violoncello performance.
• Offer chamber music coaching when required.
• Develop study, practice, and examination materials.
• Manage course content, attendance, uploads, and grading in the LMS.
• Coordinate student exams, performances, and masterclasses with faculty.
• Audit prospective students for the next academic intake.
• Attend weekly departmental meetings and maintain regular office hours.
• Contribute to the academy’s artistic and academic activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in music (or Bachelor’s with significant professional experience).
• Advanced, practice‑based expertise in violoncello across a range of Western art music genres.
• Proven teaching experience in violoncello performance.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme leaders and specialist tutors.
