VP & Head of Audit, Personal, Wealth & Commercial Banking

About the role

The VP & Head of Audit will lead audit activities for Personal Banking, Wealth, Credit and Commercial Banking across the FAB Group, both in the UAE and internationally. Reporting to senior management, the role provides assurance, identifies weaknesses, and drives corrective actions while acting as the primary audit liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute end‑to‑end audits of business, product and credit functions in line with the annual audit plan.
• Ensure audits are completed efficiently, on schedule and meet regulatory expectations in the UAE and other jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance, on‑the‑job training and knowledge sharing to junior audit staff.
• Monitor financial performance of audited areas against budgets and report variances.
• Apply GIA policies, guidance notes and practice standards; contribute to their development.
• Define and maintain the Audit Universe, coordinate coverage with other teams, and prepare risk assessments for each process stream.
• Maintain audit programs in the central audit management tool and conduct special investigations as required.
• Report significant findings to management, agree on action plans and follow up on implementation.

Required profile

• Subject‑matter expert with deep knowledge of personal banking, wealth, credit and credit‑risk management processes.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory environment in the UAE and other relevant jurisdictions.
• Proven experience in leading large‑scale audits and influencing senior management.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the GIA Extended Management Team and across international locations.
