Waiter/Waitress - Pool & Beach Restaurant

About the role

Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah is looking for a Waiter/Waitress for its pool and beach restaurant. The role is about delivering memorable guest experiences through food and beverage service, while supporting the captain or head waiter and contributing to in-house sales.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the captain or head waiter during service and stay available at all times
• Promote in-house sales through knowledge of all hotel services and the opening hours and promotions of all F&B outlets
• Know the day's suggestions and follow the daily cleaning plan and restaurant closure plan
• Clean trolleys and pedestal tables, polish cutlery and ensure mise en place
• Fill sugar dispensers, mustard pots, toothpicks and oil and vinegar containers, and supply the restaurant with linen
• Provide high-quality food and beverage service and meet guest satisfaction
• Follow F&B policies, recognise quality products and presentation, and improve service standards
• Help staff during peak periods and manage waste by reducing and recycling
• Attend mandatory meetings, do general cleaning and keep the work area clean and organised; other duties as assigned, such as assisting security with disorderly guests

Required profile

• Advanced knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service, including alcoholic beverages
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to work standing and in confined spaces for long periods

Required skills

• Basic math skills for operating a cash register, making change, balancing checks and preparing cash drops
• Advanced English writing skills for requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers
• Keyboard operation and point-of-sale procedures to pre-check, order and close out a check
