Welder – Electric, Gas & TIG (BCT)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Welder (BCT) to perform electric, gas and TIG welding tasks on static equipment in a large industrial plant. The role involves both shop‑floor and field welding, supporting maintenance, fabrication and repair activities while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute a variety of welding, cutting and brazing operations according to technical specifications and safety regulations.
• Perform hot‑work tasks under permit‑to‑work (PTW) procedures, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment for self and coworkers.
• Carry out shop‑floor and on‑site welding of structures, tanks, furnaces, boilers, steel stacks, heat exchangers, vessels and pipelines.
• Prepare joints, assist fabricators with weld maps and welding summary sheets, and operate metal‑shaping machines such as brakes and shears.
• Interpret blueprints and welding process specifications to select appropriate tools, materials and procedures.
• Maintain welding and cutting equipment, report defects and perform routine inspections.
• Participate in plant shutdowns and support welding tests required by the inspection department.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in welding.
• Minimum 4 years of experience welding and repairing static equipment in a large industrial environment, preferably oil and gas.

Required skills

• Electric, gas and TIG welding.
• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
• Operation of metal‑shaping equipment (brakes, shears, bending machines).
• Blueprint and welding specification interpretation.
• Hot‑work permit compliance and PPE usage.
• Welding tool maintenance and visual inspection.
• Execution of welding tests.
