Workshop Planning Engineer

About the role

The Workshop Planning Engineer will plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance activities for aircraft components and workshop units, ensuring optimal use of manpower, tools and resources. This role supports CAMO and Component Planning teams to meet turnaround time commitments while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive work scopes and shop‑visit requests from CAMO or Component Planning teams.
• Prepare detailed schedules for shop visits and allocate daily work assignments to technicians.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and track work‑in‑progress in AMOS.
• Coordinate with Quality, Logistics, Tooling and Stores to secure parts, tools and documentation.
• Escalate material shortages, findings or manpower constraints that may cause delays.
• Prepare post‑visit reports analysing turnaround time, labor hours, delays and non‑routine findings.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives for workshop efficiency and resource utilisation.
• Participate in daily planning meetings and cross‑department coordination.
• Manage planning of materials, consumables and tooling for the workshop.
• Oversee AMOS‑CROM & CMP projects and provide people‑management guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in workshop maintenance planning, preferably in an airline or MRO environment.
• Proven ability to create and manage Gantt charts and detailed schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across departments and organisational levels.
• Familiarity with human‑factors considerations in aircraft maintenance.
