Account Manager – Journals & eBooks (East Africa)

About the role

Informa is seeking a dynamic Account Manager to lead the growth of its Journals and eBooks portfolio across East Africa. Based in Dubai, you will work closely with university libraries, research institutions and government bodies to expand institutional sales and strengthen high‑value relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for consortiums in East Africa, negotiating deals, renewals and strategic partnerships.
• Engage senior stakeholders such as Vice‑Chancellors, Library Directors and Procurement teams to ensure long‑term retention.
• Drive a minimum of 20% year‑on‑year revenue growth by identifying new opportunities and upselling existing clients.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to increase journal and eBook subscriptions across academic, corporate and governmental customers.
• Act as a trusted ambassador for Taylor & Francis, advising institutions on Open Access, digital learning and research dissemination trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience in academic publishing or B2B sales within the education sector.
• Strong track record of managing key accounts and achieving revenue targets.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with senior academic and research leaders.
• Ability to work independently and travel across the East African region as needed.
