Accountant

About the role

Bookra Solutions is seeking an experienced Accountant to support internal financial operations and contribute to the development of its accounting platform. The role combines traditional bookkeeping with collaboration on product features to meet the needs of UAE businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping, general ledger, accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
• Support budgeting, cash‑flow monitoring and financial planning activities.
• Calculate, review and file VAT returns and assist with UAE corporate tax compliance.
• Maintain accounting records in line with UAE regulations.
• Provide financial analysis and performance reporting for management.
• Review customer accounting workflows, advise on best practices and assist with setup, chart of accounts, VAT configuration and invoicing.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to test and improve accounting features, automation and controls within the Bookra platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Practical experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles.
• Good knowledge of UAE VAT and corporate tax requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast‑growing technology/start‑up environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
