AI Agent Engineering Project Intern – Procurement (2027 Start)

About the role

ByteDance’s Corporate Information department is transforming its traditional procurement system into an AI‑native platform. As an AI Agent Engineering Project Intern you will join a team that builds intelligent procurement agents and the underlying System AI Harness that enable planning, tool use, memory and multi‑step reasoning. You will work on real‑world problems from day one, receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation and validation of Procurement Agents and the System AI Harness under mentor guidance.
• Develop and maintain services, business logic and data flows that power AI‑native procurement.
• Explore and prototype AI Agent capabilities such as planning, tool use, memory and reasoning.
• Translate emerging AI techniques into practical product features.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program related to computer science, engineering or a similar field.
• Strong interest in artificial intelligence, especially AI agents and their applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
