Assistant Accountant – Immediate Start

About the role

ADNOC Schools is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team at the Madinat Zayed Campus in Abu Dhabi. This is an immediate‑start position supporting day‑to‑day financial operations for a leading school group.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and verify receipts against bank statements; ensure cheques, cash and transfers are properly deposited.
• Follow up late payments and returned cheques with parents; respond to finance‑related inquiries.
• Process student withdrawal forms after all dues are cleared.
• Liaise with external auditors to provide accurate historical information.
• Reconcile receivables in the Orisson system, post necessary journal entries, and monitor outstanding student balances.
• Allocate unapplied receipts, reconcile unidentified deposits, and prepare monthly collection reports.
• Collect documentation for fee discounts and submit to the Central Finance team (Western Region only).
• Issue fee invoices and assist the Head of Invoicing during termly billing cycles.
• Prepare and monitor monthly schedules for tuition, registration, refunds, advances and excursions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts and finance, preferably with General Ledger exposure.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles; billing and receivables knowledge is a plus.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.
