Assistant General Counsel – Dubai

About the role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an experienced legal professional to join its Dubai office as Assistant General Counsel. The role supports the India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) region, providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as senior legal advisor to Oliver Wyman Group businesses across IMEA, delivering advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory and risk issues.
• Lead the full contract lifecycle for complex consulting engagements, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating client, vendor, alliance and subcontractor agreements.
• Provide expert guidance on GCC regulatory compliance, including financial services regulations, data protection laws and sector‑specific frameworks.
• Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of consulting engagements such as independence, conflicts, cross‑border service delivery and licensing considerations.
• Partner with HR and business leaders on employment law, employee relations, mobility, disciplinary actions and immigration compliance.
• Identify, assess and manage legal, contractual and operational risks, proposing pragmatic solutions to protect the firm while supporting growth.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a legal counsel within a professional services or consulting environment.
• Strong ability to provide practical, solution‑oriented advice while managing risk.
• Excellent independent work ethic with the capacity to prioritize high‑volume workloads.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements.
• In‑depth knowledge of GCC regulatory frameworks and employment law.
