Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting will support the VP of Financial Reporting in meeting GEMS Group’s regulated and statutory reporting obligations. The role involves handling audit, review and tax matters while preparing consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize consolidated financial statements within 40 working days after year‑end for the annual audit and within 30 days for half‑yearly or quarterly reviews.
• Coordinate audit and review packs with business units and line managers.
• Assess the impact of IFRS/IAS standards on the Group’s financial statements and embed changes into business planning.
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, consultants, valuation experts and other service providers.
• Implement and maintain automated reporting processes in collaboration with the DAX team.
• Support the VP in preparing presentations and accounting memos for audit and risk committees.
• Oversee audit and review matters for all Group subsidiaries.
• Assist with statutory reporting compliance, including submission of audited and reviewed financial statements.
• Prepare VAT readiness assessments, handle VAT implementation, and manage tax filings for entities in Qatar and KSA.
• Provide ERP implementation requirements related to financial reporting and collaborate with the ERP team.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting or finance qualification.
• Experience in statutory reporting, audit coordination and tax compliance.
• Familiarity with IFRS/IAS standards and consolidation processes.
