Assistant Underwriter

About the role

IIQAF Group is seeking a detail‑oriented Assistant Underwriter to join its growing insurance team in Dubai. You will support senior underwriters by evaluating applications, preparing policy documents, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role offers exposure to a wide range of insurance products and a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist underwriters in reviewing insurance applications and policy submissions.
• Verify documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform preliminary risk assessments following company underwriting guidelines.
• Prepare quotations, policy schedules, endorsements, and renewal documents.
• Process new business, renewals, cancellations, and policy amendments.
• Maintain accurate underwriting files and electronic customer records.
• Coordinate with brokers, agents, clients, and internal departments.
• Support pricing decisions by collecting underwriting data and risk information.
• Assist in preparing underwriting reports, portfolio analysis, and performance metrics.
• Monitor policy issuance timelines to ensure excellent customer service.
• Identify potential underwriting risks and escalate complex cases to senior underwriters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Economics or a related field.
• Previous experience in an underwriting support role (e.g., Assistant Underwriter, Underwriting Assistant, Insurance Coordinator, Policy Administrator) is preferred.
• Knowledge of underwriting principles, insurance policies, risk evaluation, and policy administration.
• Familiarity with UAE insurance regulations and company underwriting guidelines.
