Basketball Lead Coach – High Performance Programme

About the role

Fortes Education is seeking an experienced Basketball Lead Coach to drive a high‑performance basketball programme across its schools in Dubai. The role focuses on preparing elite squads for local, national and international competitions while integrating basketball into the broader curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver high‑quality training sessions, including early morning, lunchtime and after‑school squads.
• Design, implement and continuously improve a performance pathway from primary level through Sixth Form.
• Lead and support curriculum basketball in collaboration with PE staff, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes.
• Prepare teams for school leagues and international tournaments, managing high‑stakes fixtures.
• Coach and mentor junior coaches and other staff members.
• Select and manage squads for competition.

Required profile

• FIBA‑endorsed Level 2 Basketball Coaching Certificate or equivalent.
• Background as a competitive player or coach at elite or national level.
• Proven track record of building high‑performing teams in schools, clubs or academies.
• Success in preparing squads for school leagues and international tournaments.
• Strong session‑planning ability that develops individual skill and team cohesion.
• Expertise in positional development, offensive/defensive strategies, set plays and performance analysis.
• Experience coaching under pressure and leading high‑stakes fixtures.
• Ability to mentor staff and create individual development plans.
• Understanding of strength and conditioning, injury prevention and athlete recovery.
