Capillary Supervisor - Well Services

About the role

The Capillary Supervisor leads on‑site execution of capillary string installation, retrieval and chemical injection for well services. Reporting to the client representative, the role ensures safe, efficient and technically correct operations across onshore and offshore wells in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise rig up/down, pressure testing, conveyance and string management according to the job program.
• Maintain equipment certifications, coordinate renewals with vendors and ensure compliance.
• Make real‑time go/no‑go decisions and exercise stop‑work authority when unsafe conditions arise.
• Interface with client representatives, obtain approvals for changes and manage the management‑of‑change process.
• Prepare post‑job reports, pressure test records, string depth confirmation, chemical injection data and NPT analysis.
• Complete job tickets, wellsite records and crew timesheets; conduct debriefs and document lessons learned.
• Lead toolbox talks, enforce Permit to Work and LOTO requirements and report near‑misses and incidents.
• Assign tasks to operators based on competency and oversee their performance.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, GED or Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in capillary operations; slickline experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of the UAE rigless conveyance market preferred.
• Current IWCF or IADC WIPC Level 3/4 certification.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Deep technical knowledge of capillary systems (sizing, metallurgy, pressure ratings, chemical compatibility).
• Pull testing and high‑pressure testing of small‑diameter tubing.
• Chemical injection capillary operations.
• Well control principles and live‑wellhead integrity management.
• Interpretation of well schematics, P&IDs and completion diagrams.
• Mechanical troubleshooting in field environments.
• IWCF or IADC WIPC certification (Level 3/4).
