Civil Marine Project Manager

About the role

The Civil Marine Project Manager leads complex marine and civil infrastructure projects such as port developments, coastal protection structures, and marine facilities. Acting as the primary liaison for clients, contractors, regulators, and internal teams, the role ensures technical excellence and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project kick‑off activities, including mobilization planning, resource allocation, and establishing baselines for scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Develop detailed Project Execution Plans, Method Statements, and construction methodologies for marine civil works.
• Set up project governance, communication protocols, and reporting hierarchies.
• Monitor daily construction progress, implement corrective actions, and manage schedule deviations.
• Oversee main contractor, subcontractor, and supplier relationships to ensure contractual compliance.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate variations and change orders to protect the project’s commercial position.
• Prepare and present monthly progress reports covering schedule status, financial performance, risk register, and look‑ahead programme.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships to support business development.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a multidisciplinary project team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Construction Management or a related field (Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus).
• 12–15 years of experience in marine civil construction, including dredging, quay walls, breakwaters, and revetments.
• Proven project management experience in the GCC/Middle East region.
• Demonstrated expertise in planning, execution, budgeting, and risk management.
