Civil Site Engineer – Electrical Substation Projects

About the role

The Civil Site Engineer will lead civil construction activities for high‑voltage electrical substations (132kV‑400kV) across the UAE. Working closely with the Project Manager, senior engineers and subcontractors, you will ensure that foundations, cable trenches, control buildings, roads and drainage systems are built safely, on schedule and to authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day civil works on substation sites, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, method statements and specifications.
• Coordinate subcontractors for foundations, transformer bunds, GIS buildings, underground utilities and internal roads.
• Monitor excavation, back‑filling, compaction, concrete placement, rebar installation and curing.
• Prepare weekly and daily work plans, track progress against the project schedule and flag any delays.
• Liaise with consultants, electrical/mechanical teams and surveyors for inspections, approvals and interface works.
• Conduct site checks, manage concrete testing, and verify compliance with UAE authority standards (ADDC, DEWA, SEWA, FEWA/EtihadWE, TRANSCO).

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising civil construction at electrical substation sites.
• Strong coordination abilities and the capacity to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with UAE utility authority requirements (ADDC, DEWA, SEWA, etc.).
• Ability to prepare and follow detailed work plans and inspection/test plans.

Required skills
