Claims Manager

About the role

The Munich Re Dubai Claims Team is seeking a Claims Manager to lead the technical handling of complex property and casualty reinsurance claims across the Middle East. Reporting to the Head of Non-Life Claims, you will ensure high‑quality claims processing, generate data‑driven insights and support continuous improvement of claims operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage legal and technical assessment of major and complex claims, covering indemnity, liability, quantum and coverage issues.
• Evaluate and monitor reserves, conducting ongoing reviews of large loss complexes.
• Negotiate claim outcomes, address coverage and liability allocations, and initiate sub‑rogation where appropriate.
• Identify claims requiring specialised expertise (e.g., loss inspections, risk prevention) and coordinate actions.
• Provide advice and monitoring to cedents, conduct claims reviews and due‑diligence exercises.
• Analyse claims data to spot trends, risks and opportunities for portfolio improvement.

Required profile

• University degree in Law, Insurance or a related discipline (preferred).
• Professional insurance qualification (e.g., ACII, AIISA, ACILA) or progress towards one.
• Minimum 5 years of reinsurance claims experience, or 8‑10 years in claims handling, loss adjusting or underwriting.
• Strong technical expertise in non‑life claims, including large loss management and reserving practices.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
