Commis 1 – Arabic Cuisine

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is seeking a Commis 1 to support the Arabic Cuisine kitchen. This full‑time position involves preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and assisting the culinary team during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Thaw frozen items in refrigeration units and ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish.
• Maintain food logs, monitor quality and quantity of prepared food, and inform the Chef of excess items for daily specials.
• Communicate menu specials and out‑of‑stock items to Food & Beverage service staff.
• Follow all company safety, security, and hygiene policies; report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff as needed.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree (preferred).
• At least 3 years of relevant culinary experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
