Commis 2 – Pastry & Bakery

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira in Dubai is seeking a Commis 2 to join its Pastry & Bakery team. You will support the production of high‑quality pastries and bakery items while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety. This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced, luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, peel and prepare ingredients for pastry and bakery production.
• Prepare mise en place to the standards set by senior chefs.
• Set up and replenish buffet stations as required.
• Assist in receiving and organizing requisitions and store items appropriately.
• Monitor stock levels and report low inventory to superiors.
• Store ingredients in labelled containers to preserve freshness.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, utensils and the kitchen area before and after use.
• Report any cleanliness or maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to personal hygiene and food‑safety regulations, including UAE municipal rules.
• Support the delivery of legendary quality experiences for guests.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience in a pastry or bakery environment.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and follow instructions from senior staff.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality.
