Commis 2 – Pastry & Bakery

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira in Dubai is seeking a motivated Commis 2 to join its Pastry and Bakery team. You will work in a dynamic, luxury‑hotel environment, supporting the creation of high‑quality pastries and bakery items while upholding the brand’s legendary service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, peel and prepare ingredients for pastry and bakery production.
• Prepare mise en place to the highest quality standards set by senior chefs.
• Set up and replenish buffet stations as required.
• Assist in receiving and organizing stock, reporting low inventory levels.
• Store ingredients in labelled containers, ensuring proper preservation.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools and utensils in line with food‑safety regulations.
• Report any cleanliness or maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Maintain strict personal hygiene and adhere to UAE municipal food‑safety rules.
• Support other outlets and banquet operations when requested.
• Participate in scheduled meetings and training sessions.
