Commis Chef – Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis Chef to join the kitchen team at Avani Palm View Dubai Hotel & Suites. You will work under the Chef de Partie and senior chefs, supporting daily food preparation and ensuring high standards of taste, presentation and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to approved recipes, portion sizes and hotel standards.
• Assist the Chef de Partie with the daily operation of the assigned kitchen section.
• Wash, cut, chop, marinate and portion ingredients as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, equipment, utensils and work area.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, sanitation and personal hygiene standards at all times.
• Check freshness and quality of ingredients, report concerns and store items using FIFO and proper temperature controls.
• Support buffet, live stations, banquets and other events as needed.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any defects.

Required profile

• Passion for hospitality and a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment and collaborate with team members.
• Willingness to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Understanding of FIFO stock rotation and proper storage temperatures.
• Basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
