Commis Chef – Entry Level Kitchen Position

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at a renowned French luxury pâtisserie. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, high‑standard environment where you will develop your culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking menu items while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Rotate, store, and prep ingredients to minimise waste and ensure freshness.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Follow recipes and plating specifications as directed by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.
• Collaborate positively with the kitchen team, demonstrating professionalism and a willingness to learn.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen or a recognised culinary qualification is highly desirable.
• A genuine passion for cooking and a strong desire to build a career in the culinary arts.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced setting.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
