Commis I – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis I to join the kitchen team at Autograph Collection in Dubai. The role supports the culinary team by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, chop and store fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, mix and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Test foods for doneness, monitor food quality and ensure correct temperatures of appliances and dishes.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools and equipment.
• Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies, report any hazards and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation techniques including chopping, portioning and mixing.
• Food safety practices and temperature monitoring.
