Construction Director

About the role

China State Construction Middle East is seeking a Construction Director to lead the construction team on a large‑scale project in Dubai. The role involves steering project execution, ensuring safety excellence, and aligning resources with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day management of construction projects and coordinate work performed by staff.
• Plan and organize resources in advance, monitoring budgets, contracts, designs and authority approvals.
• Identify key risks and opportunities across all project aspects, including head contracts and design solutions.
• Foster an environment for exceptional team performance, aligning roles, skills and behaviours with company objectives.
• Lead safety initiatives, promoting zero tolerance for unsafe practices.
• Develop and administer project budgets, fiscal controls, contracts and quality control provisions.
• Participate in design alternative formulation and provide conceptual input.
• Coordinate production of joinery units with factories, ensuring compliance with design, budget, schedule and quality standards.
• Develop and monitor procurement strategies to meet project specifications and timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in large‑scale construction projects.
• Proven track record in project cost estimating, value engineering and procurement strategy development.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive safety performance.
