Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry

About the role

The Demi Chef de Partie – Pastry will support the pastry team in delivering high‑quality desserts and specialty items for JW Marriott guests. Working in a fast‑paced kitchen, you will ensure consistency, safety, and presentation standards are met throughout service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals, cold foods and pastry items according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and manage food thawing processes.
• Maintain portion control, garnish presentation and food logs.
• Monitor quality and quantity of prepared items and communicate specials or out‑of‑stock items to service staff.
• Assist the Chef with daily specials, excess food utilization and menu updates.
• Follow all safety, security and hygiene policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lb, and reaching overhead.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant pastry experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work in a non‑management, full‑time role.
