Department Officer – Shift Supervisor (DWC)

About the role

The Department Officer (SSP) for Dubai World Central (DWC) oversees all departmental activities during a shift, ensuring safe, on‑time performance and compliance with service level agreements, operating procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Resource Allocators to plan and control manpower and equipment, optimizing utilisation and controlling costs.
• Review the flight schedule, align resource plans with demand, and anticipate operational issues.
• Deploy resources to meet flight and activity requirements, handling shortages or equipment breakdowns.
• Conduct regular safety briefings, intervene on risk exposure, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Lead Department Team Leaders, communicate expectations and action plans, and ensure adherence to safety, quality and environmental policies.
• Maintain consistent communication with key stakeholders and other shift officers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in shift or department management within airport or ground‑handling operations.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and regulatory standards.
• Ability to lead teams, make quick decisions and coordinate resources under pressure.
