Deputy Construction Manager – Offshore Projects

About the role

The Deputy Construction Manager is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex operations‑related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve installation procedures and engineering to ensure compliance with project and McDermott minimum requirements and safe engineering practices.
• Supervise field engineers in planning, execution, and preparation of material lists for offshore projects, coordinating with the Project Coordinator for timely procurement.
• Resolve technical problems arising during offshore installation and coordinate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Fabrication/Loadout Contractor and the fabrication hook‑up group to provide required marine support equipment and logistics assistance.
• Develop scope of work, assist in subcontract award, and manage fabrication inter‑function coordination across engineering, SCM, detail design, and hook‑up.
• Lead the project’s fabrication execution strategy, monitor progress, productivity, and budget, and report status to the Construction Manager.
• Chair fabrication kick‑off and readiness meetings, manage scope changes, and ensure AFC estimates are updated.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5–7 years of experience in the offshore industry.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of design and offshore project execution.
