Dredging Development Engineer

About the role

The Dredging Development Engineer will lead research and technical studies on dredging equipment performance, soil interaction and production methodologies. The role focuses on driving technical advancements, designing digital tools, and supporting real‑time data integration to improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and technical studies on dredging equipment, soil interaction and production methods.
• Design and maintain digital tools such as spreadsheets, scripts and dashboards for production estimation and monitoring.
• Support integration of real‑time dredger data and production logs into centralized systems.
• Automate calculations, data processing and report generation workflows.
• Develop and apply rigorous testing protocols for performance, reliability and safety of dredging products.
• Collaborate with the Dredging Development Manager to align development efforts with department priorities.
• Create and use digital twin models to simulate, optimise and predict dredging operations.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimise processes and reduce costs.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Dredging, Mechanical, Civil, Maritime Engineering or related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in marine construction and/or dredging.
• Strong knowledge of dredging technologies, equipment and emerging industry trends.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across estimation, operations and other stakeholder groups.
